The ancient "Grease Trail" of the Carrier Indians, now known as the McKenzie Trail, lies immediately behind our camp, and is maintained by the government as a national park. Hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers can explore it in solitude for over 125 miles in either direction.

Other trails lead to nearby lakes and streams. One such is the Pettry Lake, where we have a single cabin, the only structure on the lake. We call it the honeymoon cabin, and reserve it for use by guests who really want to get away from it all for a night or two. It's idyllic. By day you will see eagles, occasional moose, and enjoy great fishing. At night you will hear only the spinetingling cries of the loons, the howl of the coyotes or wolves, and the splashing of three to nine pound trout. No extra charge, but you will have to do your own cooking.
